Sharp losses in the Chicago soy complex dragged canola lower to begin the week.
Good Midwest growing conditions sent soybeans to double-digit declines, with both soymeal and soymeal following lower. The USDA crop progress report, released after the close, pegged the American soybean at 68% good to excellent as of Sunday, up a single point from a week earlier and above trade guesses.
Much warmer temperatures are on tap for most of Western Canada this week, with the potential for thunderstorms late in the week.
November canola fell $9.80 to $648.40, and January was down $10.30 at $658.20.
